June Phillips Lea, 94, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, former longtime Shelby County
resident, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at North Idaho Hospice House.


Born June 15, 1925, she was the daughter of Stanley Young Phillips and Alberta
(Hasank) Phillips. She married Howard Glenn Lea on June 7,1947 who preceded her
in death on February 21, 2012.


Survivors include one son James Young Lea (wife Judi Davis) of Coeur d'Alene, brother
Charles Ray Phillips of Dry Ridge, Kentucky; grandchildren, Janet Arienne Lea of Coos Bay,
Orgeon, Jennifer Meagan Lea of Coeur d'Alene; step grandchildren Deneen Davis of Twin
Lakes, Idaho and Justin Davis of Coeur d'Alene.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents,her spouse and siblings Clyde Walter Phillips, Ronald Phillips, Jacqueline Phillips and Betty Ann Phillips.


Mrs. Lea was a resident of Coeur d'Alene for 7 years after moving from Shelbyville in 2012.
She had been a registered nurse, working in the surgical department at Bartholomew County
Hospital in Columbus from 1959 until 1995. She graduated from Williamstown High School and the
St. Elizabeth Hospital nursing program in Covington, Kentucky. She was a member of the Flat
Rock Methodist Church. 


June loved playing bridge with her local club for many years. She was  also an avid quilter.


Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son
Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd with Pastor Les Fix officiating.

 

Burial will be in Miller Cemetery.


Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral
home.
