Floyd James Hackworth-Thurman, 47, of Edinburgh

Floyd James Hackworth-Thurman, 47, of Edinburgh, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020 at IU Health Methodist Hospital.

 

He was born March 20, 1973 in Shelbyville.  Floyd is survived by his parents Jack and Betty (Dyer) Thurman, his sons, Brady James Hackworth of Boggstown and Kylan Andrew Hackworth-Callahan of Shelbyville.

 

Other survivors include his sister, Joetta Lou (Craig) Adams of Hope; his brother, Charles Ray (Sheila) Hackworth of Columbus; his sister, Shannon Renee Hackworth, his brothers, Bobby Eugene Thurman and Lester Allen Thurman, all of Shelbyville; his father, Charles Ray Hackworth, Sr.; his nieces and nephews, Kirk, Dereck, Kayla, Kali, Autumn, and Jenna; and his dog, J.J.

 

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Joshua DeWayne Bailey, and his grandparents.

 

Floyd was employed in lawn care and construction.

 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and working side by side with his Dad.  His favorite times were spent with his children.

 

Visitation will be Friday, July 3, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

 

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 4, 2020 at the funeral home with Pastor James Thurman officiating.

 

Burial will be in Mt. Auburn cemetery.

 

Funeral Directors, Greg Parks, Sheila Parks, and Stuart Parks are honored to serve Floyd’s family.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help with Floyd’s funeral expenses.
