Lee Etta Guinn, 91 years of Greenfield, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at Golden Living Center at Brandywine, Greenfield. She was born May 27, 1929 in Rensselaer, Indiana, she was the 8th of 14 children born to Jot & Mattie Nelson.

She was a loving and giving person that worked for many years at Westminster Village
North as a cook. She was a wonderful cook, especially her pie baking, loved working in her garden, and had a green thumb with anything she planted. She attended Shiloh Church.

She is survived by her children: Linda (Kenny) Nichols, Connie (Larry) McCurry, Elmer Guinn, Eddie (Glen) Guinn, Lige Guinn, Michelle Guinn, sisters, Doris Stalbaum-Thorne, Beverly Wireman, brother, Howard Nelson, two sister-in-law’s, Nell Clayborn, Judy Stover 27 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her husband Elmer Guinn, daughter Leona Couch, sons, Danny Guinn and Ervin Guinn.

Private family visitation and funeral service will be held at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel of Greenfield, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Ind. A private burial service will be held at McCray Cemetery, Wilkinson, Ind.

Alga Lois Ivey, age 79, of Greenfield passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born August 13, 1941 in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Floyd W. and Auda (Singleton) Whitaker.

Lois was a graduate of Cordia High School. She married Delbert Ivey on June 11, 1960. Prior to her retirement, Alga was a nurse at Hancock Regional Hospital.

She is survived by her daughters, Deborah L Woodruff and Brenda L. Hensley; brothers, R.D. Whitaker, Floyd W. Whitaker, Jr., Boyd R. Whitaker; sisters, Nella Young, Ella Robinson, Chloteen Vaugh, Betty Sue Caudill and Bonnie Lou Thompson; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delbert in 2006; son, Gilbert W. Ivey; brother, J.B. Whitaker; and sisters, Lola Caudill and Kathaleen Whitaker.

Service will be 12:00 PM, Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will immediately follow at Philadelphia Church Cemetery.

Hubert L. Hufferd, age 98, formerly of Greenfield passed away, Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at Copper Trace, Westfield, IN. He was born November 13, 1922 in Arlington, IN to the late Ralph and Elma Hufferd.

He was a 1940 graduate of Arlington High School and a graduate of Indiana Business School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on October 9, 1942 and served in the South Pacific until his honorable discharge on November 20, 1945.

Hubert married Phyllis Holmes while on leave in 1944 and they were married 65 years until Phyllis passed away in 2009. They were lifelong residents of Greenfield, IN. He worked at Delco Remy in Anderson for 30 years before retiring on September 1, 1980. Hubert was a member of Friends Church in Greenfield for over 50 years where he actively participated in services and taught Sunday School.

He was active in bowling, participating in leagues for several years. He and Phyllis were partners at Bridge and played in groups as well as organizing a group for many years. Hubert was an avid golfer and a member of Arrowhead Golf Club, where he was a winner of the club championship.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Wife Phyllis and brother, William.

There will be a graveside service for family on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Park Cemetery, 621 S. State Street, Greenfield, IN.

Darrell Wayne Tucker, 64, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020
at St. Francis Hospital.

Born August 7, 1956 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Dennis Tucker and Pauline
(Smith) Tucker.

Survivors include 1 brother Douglas Tucker (wife Darlynn) of Shelbyville; 2 sisters-
Theresa Hedden and Connie L. James, both of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death
by his parents, 2 brothers Dennis Dale Tucker and Danny E. Tucker.

Mr. Tucker was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High
School and Blue River Vocational School.  He had been employed with Arco Electric
for 14 years, and previously worked at Coca Cola for 8 years.  He was a member of 
Faith Trinity Pentecostal Church.

Darrell enjoyed fishing, watching sports on TV, and was an avid Atlanta Braves baseball
fan.

Funeral services will be 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Glenn E. George 
& Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.   

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.   

Friends may call on Saturday morning from 10:00 am until the  time of the service.

Juanita Ruth Basey, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020
at her residence.

Born November 7, 1926 in Shelbyille, she was the daughter of Otis Denney and Zella
Mae (Lockridge) Denney.  She married Joseph L. Basey on September 2, 1949 and
he preceded her on November 6, 2011.

Survivors include 2 sons- Bruce Cary Basey (wife Sharon Rae) and Steven Joseph
Basey (wife Sharon Rose), both of Shelbyville; one sister Joan Eddleman of Naples,
Florida; 5 grandchildren- Anna Blocher, Adam Basey, Bradley Basey, Brian Basey,
Bailey Bassett; 9 great grandchildren, and 5 step grandchildren.  She was preceded 
in death by her parents, her spouse,  a brother Omer Denney, 4 sisters- Ona Mae
Burton, Mary Catherine Green, Bonnie Lou Humphrey, and Matilda Rose Hassinger.

Mrs. Basey was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Shelbyville High
School in 1946.  She had been employed as a floral clerk with the local Kroger Grocery
for several years, and had previously worked as a switchboard operator/personnel clerk
at Admiral Corp. for 7 years.  She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, and
the Eagles Auxiliary.

Juanita enjoyed flowers, playing Texas Hold Em, crocheting, watching game shows
on TV, and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1:00 pm on Friday, November 27, 2020 at Forest Hill
Cemetery, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating. 

No visiting hours will be observed.

Wilma J. Kendall, 84, of Fairland, passed away peacefully at Heritage House in Shelbyville on November 18, 2020.  Born January 10, 1936 in Beech Grove, Indiana to William and Kathern LaFary, she married Richard B. Kendall on December 8, 1955, and he preceded her in death on March 14, 2010.

Survivors include sons Daniel B. ( Donna) Kendall of Fairland, and Michael R. Kendall of North Carolina, Grandchildren Danielle (Hunter) Kendall-Mauro, Katie Anne (Josh) Kendall-Carmichael, Shannon (James) Kendall-Briede, Brandon (Kristina) Kendall, Jason (Christina) Kendall, Nathan (Kara) Kendall, Ronda (Pat) Baker. Great Grandchildren Jackson Briede, Grayson Briede, Ethan Kendall, Josiah Kendall, Jacob Kendall, Caden Kendall, Seth Kendall, Avery Kendall, Tanner Baker, Presley Kendall, Isabella Kendall, Skylar Baker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Ronald E. Kendall. Mrs. Kendall lived in this area most of her life. She graduated from Moral Township High School in 1954 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Jehovah Witness congregation of Shelbyville for 61 years.

Nathaniel Ryan Greene, ‘Nate’, 37, of Indianapolis, passed away, Wednesday, November 25, 2020.

He was born January 23, 1983 in Indianapolis to Ronald Greene and Cynthia (Crumley) Greene.

Nate was a welder. He was an active member of AA and N.A.  He attended Decatur Central High School and graduated from Job Corp in 2006.  Nate had a love for music and enjoyed living life to the fullest.  He had a passion for the Chicago Bulls, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

Nate married Brittany Michelle (Wischmeyer) Greene on November 9, 2019, and she survives.

He is also survived by his parents of Morristown, TN, his daughters, Jazelynn Greene, and Lena Greene; his sisters, Brittany Clark (husband, Andrew); Heather Miller (husband, Dustyn) and Kelly Plank (husband, Forrest), and nieces, Payton and Emma.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Corny P. Gossett, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.

She was born in a log cabin in Fillmore, IN on July 6, 1934.  She graduated from Fillmore High School in 1952. She also earned a degree from Indiana Business College.

Corny worked in human resources at ATAPCO in Crawfordsville, IN where she retired in 1991. She loved singing, playing cards, and her keyboard.  Corny had a love for professional sports, especially football.

She also had a passion for pictures.  That could be seen by looking at the walls inside of her home.  She enjoyed making greeting cards for family and friends for birthdays, holidays and other special occasions.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and close friends.

Corny was the daughter of Stanley F. Sears and Dorothy L. (Smith) Sears.  She married Earl D. Gossett on September 5, 1954, and he preceded her in death on September 29, 1997.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti Cash (Steve) of Fillmore, and Teresa Robertson (Jim) of Shelbyville; her grandchildren, Dan Cash, Lisa Robertson, Stacia Luh (Adrian), Katie Ricklefs (Brian), Rajean Bergman (Doug) and Jennifer Foxx (Brandon); and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and sister, Mary Susan McMains. 

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m, Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Services, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.  

A Celebration of Life will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Larry Joe Kelley, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at his residence.

He was born August 15, 1938 in Oblong, IL to Alva Kelley and Thelma (Ross) Kelley.

Larry was a U.S. Army veteran.  He was a union worker for Local 120 Laborers Union.

He was an avid movie watcher.  His most precious times were spent with his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Mandi Brown, step-daughters, Billie Thoreson and Nikki Urban, his grandchildren, Destiny Kelley, Jaydon Brown, and Alexis Brown, his grandson, Michael Brislain, and 6 step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter, Kim Kelley.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Heroes of Honor and Glory section at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens and Crematory, with military rites conducted by local veteran organizations.

Robert Scott “Bob” Parker, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

He was born October 4, 1933, in Shelbyville, the son of Lawrence D. and Frances (Scott) Parker. On August 25, 1957, he married his wife of 63 years, Betty Kelley, and she survives.

In addition to Betty, Bob is survived by his sons, Randall Scott Parker of Fishers, and Christopher Scott Parker and wife, Jennifer, of Whiteland; grandchildren, Emily, Matthew, Payton and Baylee; and several nieces and a nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Phyllis Jean Miller.

Bob graduated in 1951 from Shelbyville High School and attended Indiana University for one year.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean War.

Bob was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church, where he served on various boards.

He retired in 1990, from the U.S. Postal Service, after 30 years of service.

Bob was also a member of the American Legion Post No. 70, Shelbyville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2695 and a 50-year member of the Shelby Masonic Lodge No. 28 F&AM.

He enjoyed going on bicycle rides and stopping to visit with people.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with Bruce Banister officiating.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the local military committee.

Paul Leroy Merrick Sr., 77, of Shelbyville passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at AMG Specialty Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born June 9, 1943, in Shelbyville, the son of Harold and Ruth (Richardson) Merrick. On September 17, 1970, he married his wife of 50 years, Geraline Alvey, and she survives.

In addition to Geraline, Paul is survived by his sisters, Dorothy Mentzer, Bonita Dixon and Linda McDaniel, all of Shelbyville, and Susie Bolden of Greenwood; brothers, Richard Merrick of Morristown; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Samuel Merrick, Larry Merrick, Cliff Merrick, Dale Merrick and Scott Thomas Merrick.

Paul was a graduate of Shelbyville High School.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Vietnam. He served his country from 1965 to 1973.

Paul retired from Knauf Insulation in 2003, with 27 years of service.

He was formerly a member of the American Legion.

Paul enjoyed fishing, playing horse shoes and tinkering in his shed.

Reberta Ann Harritt, 71, of Fairland, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at her residence.

She was born at the US Naval Base in Corpus Christi, TX on May 29, 1949.  She was the daughter of James E. Roth and Vida (Hammer) Roth. 

She graduated in 1967 from Pleasure Ridge Park High School, in Louisville, KY.

Reberta retired after 28 years of service from Jenn-Air.  Her hobbies included painting, and doing crafts.  She enjoyed shopping and going down every single isle in the store.  She loved being at the beach and her trips to Anna Marie Island in Florida.  Her favorite times were spent making memories with her family.

She married her husband of 40 years, Tommy E. Harritt on September 20, 1980, and he survives.

She is also survived by her daughters, Carrie Macklin (Chris) of Shelbyville and Stephanie Ford (John) of Tompkinsville, KY., her grandchildren, Ashley Hunt (Autumn); Kiersten Macklin (Joseph Wilhoit); Mackenzie Hunt (Charles Burchfield); Carson Macklin; Journey Ford; and John Lukas Ford; her great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Burchfield, Kora Burchfield, Scarlytte Burchfield, and Baby Hunt coming soon; her sisters, Rebecca Ford (John) of Tompkinsville, KY; her brother, Ronald Roth of Nashville, TN., and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, JR Roth.

Sherry Marie Martin Marks, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away on November 20, 2020. Born in 1951, she was the daughter of June and Loren Martin, Jr. 

She was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and worked at Kroger for many years. She enjoyed Bingo, soap operas, cats,  collecting M & M's and Coca Cola memorabilia.

She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Sherry is survived by her husband, David Marks;  sons: Todd (Kimberly) and Michael (Jenny) Marks; mother, June Martin; sisters Sheila Myers and Toni Dobbins; and  grandchildren: Sydney, Emme, and Devon Marks. She was preceded in death by her father, Loren Martin, Jr;  granddaughter, Lauren Nicole Marks, and grandparents, Gilbert Pate, Sr. and Odessa Pate. 

Sherry was dearly loved by her family and friends and will be terribly missed.

Stacie Dixon, 43, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, November 20, 2020 at her residence.

She was born February 16, 1977 in Rushville to Randall Raider and the late Sheila (Followell) Thompson.

She married Danny Dixon on May 24, 2017 and he survives.  She is also survived by her father, her son, Zane Followell, her daughters, Tabatha Raider-Gurley and Leeann Campbell, and her sisters, Angel Gabbard and Katie Thomas, and her maternal grandmother, Mildred Followell, and several nieces and nephews.

Stacie was a homemaker.  She enjoyed living life to the fullest.

CW4 (Ret)Thomas Lester Flinn, 82, of Shelbyville, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020

at his residence.

He was born September 3, 1938 in Miami, Florida, the son of Clarence L. Flinn and Pauline

(Breedlove).  He married Judith Ann (Oliver) Flinn on August 29, 1958 and she survives.

Other survivors include his son, Michael L. Flinn (wife Kathy Bruns) of Greensburg; two

grandchildren; one brother and one sister.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a veteran, and military technician with the Indiana Army National Guard for 41 years,

retiring on September 3, 1998.

He was a member of the First Christian Church, life member of the American Legion, Fraternal

Order of Eagle FOE #766 of Shelbyville, and a life member of the National Guard Association

of Indiana, National Guard Association of the United States, and the Association of the 38th

Infantry Division. He was a volunteer at Major Health Partners for over 15 years.

Tom enjoyed gardening, playing golf, camping at Old Mill Run Park, fishing, and euchre.  He

was an avid Indianapolis Colt's fan.  When Tom retired he served on the Berwick Condo Association

as president and treasurer from 1998-2008.

A private family graveside service will be on Tuesday, November 24, 2020  at Forest Hill Cemetery

with Pastor Beth Crouch officiating.  Military rites will be conducted by a local veterans group.

Richard E. "Dick" Thomas, 94, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday,

November 18, 2020 at Heritage House.

Born May 9, 1926 in Richmond Indiana, he was the son of Kenneth and

Wanda (Bunch) Thomas.  He married Modine (Meadows) Thomas on 

August 12, 1949 and she preceded him on December 17, 2014.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews, including niece Jill Camp

(husband John) of Shelbyville, and great nephew Branden Camp (wife

Teresa) of Indianapolis.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his

spouse, and 2 sisters- Marilyn Beyer, and Wyvona Chappelow.

Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of this area and graduated from Waldron

High School in 1944.  He had been employed as a purchasing agent with

KCL Corporation for 46 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of Waldron

Masonic Lodge #217, Scottish Rite, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and Elks Club.

Dick enjoyed golfing, bowling, vacationing, wintering in Florida, and watching

sports on TV.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am on Friday, November 20, 2020 at Forest 

Hill Cemetery, with Branden Camp officiating.  No visiting hours will be observed.

Nelson A. Taylor, 62, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday,

November 18, 2020 at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital.

Born February 24, 1958 in Shelby County, he was the son of L. Albert

Taylor & Mary Ann (Carter) Taylor. He married Leta (Freeman) Taylor

on April 15, 2000 and she survives.

Other survivors include daughter Elaina Taylor of Westport; brother Tony Carter;

Aunt Martha Sanders of Florida; and 3 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his

parents & brother Frank Carter.

Mr. Taylor was a resident of Indianapolis for 22 years, after moving from Shelby County, and graduated from Waldron

High School in 1978. Nelson attended Geist Chapel in Indianapolis and was a member of

National Model Railroad Association & Plastic Modelers Association. He was retired and 

was also in the US Army Reserve. Nelson enjoyed fishing, tinkering, and building HO Model

electric PennCentral trains, and was a handyman that could fix anything that needed repair.

He was an avid motor sports fan.

Sarah (Meek) Sprowl, age 94 of Greenfield passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, November 16, 2020. She was born June 12, 1926 to the Late D. Herbert and Clara V. (Taylor) Meek.

Sarah was a 1944 graduate of Muncie Central High School. She worked as a telephone operator at Indiana Bell where she met her future husband, Philip H. Sprowl. Together they enjoyed 70 years of marriage prior to his death in August 2020. She also worked in the catalog department of Sears and Roebuck for many years.

Sarah was active in the PTA during her children’s school years and served as president. She was a member of Tri Kappa and active in several community affairs. Sarah was a Stephen Minister as well as one of the first hospice volunteers where many will remember her as a vigilant pray warrior. She attended Cross of Grace Lutheran Church where she enjoyed worshipping with her family.

She is survived by her children, Philip E. (Cindy) Sprowl, John (Susan) Parrish-Sprowl, Jacqueline Sprowl, and David P. (Deborah) Sprowl; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Sarah is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip H. Sprowl and sister, Virginia Osborne.

John Thomas Barlow, 80, of Boggstown passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.

He was born February 21, 1940, in Lawrenceburg, the son of Leonard and LaVern (Bishop) Barlow. On April 2, 1993, he married his wife of 27 years, Virginia J. “Jinny” Bass.

In addition to Jinny, John is survived by his children, Julie Dagle and husband, William, of Keller, Texas, Jennifer Kaczor and husband, Adrian, of Delray Beach, Florida, George Michael Alley and wife, Jean, of Oxford, and Diana Hughes and husband, Dan, of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Lauren Kavanaugh, Isabella Kaczor, Harrison Dagle, Ethan Dagle, Callan Hughes and Maddie Hughes; brothers-in-law, Glenn V. Bass and wife, Pam, and James Edgar “Jeb” Bass, and wife, Lynn, both of Fairland; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

John graduated in 1958 from Lawrenceburg Consolidated High School.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War.

John formerly worked for Husman, Frito Lay and Pepperidge Farm, as a vendor. In later life, he was also a farmer.

He enjoyed traveling to Florida.

John was very proud of restoring his 1937 Chevy from a dragster to a show car.

Angela J. Hendricks, 47, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, November 13, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.

She was born January 28, 1973 in Huntington, WV to David L. Rose and Shelba J. (Miller) Rose.

Angela attended Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Greensburg.  She enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.  Angela was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. 

Although her health would limit her getting out, she always enjoyed the times that she was able to be out and active.  Her most cherished times were spent with her family and close friends.

Angela is survived by her daughter, Savannah Hendricks, (husband, Daniel Sparaco); her brother David H. Rose; her granddaughter, Linda L. Sparaco, all of Greensburg; and several aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant brother, and her uncle, Billy Rose.

Lois Mary Magee, 88, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 in Greenfield, Indiana. She was born October 6, 1932 to Cora Becker and Albert Belter. She was married to Maynard White until his passing. She then married Robert Magee on February 8, 1982.

Lois worked as the Business Manager at Hancock Regional Hospital for many years. She also enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and at the Hope House. She loved reading, puzzles, camping, and spending time with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Beth Howell; grandson, Joshua White; great grandchildren, Haylie Pate and Zacharie Pate, and great great-granddaughter, Ava Pate.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Maynard White; son, Mark White, and her granddaughter, Lori Howell.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Larry Joseph Gillespie "Joe", 76, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at his current residence.

Joe and his wife, Sherrie were longtime residents of Clermont, Fl and Anderson, IN.
 

He was born September 2, 1944 in Anderson, IN to Edward Gillespie and Olive (Goodyear) Gillespie.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Sherrie L. Gillespie, his daughters, Lisa (husband, Rick) Wood of St. George, SC; Lori (husband, Jeff) Remington of Chesterfield; and Linda (husband, Tom) Milton of Greenwood; his son, David Gillespie of Anderson; his step-sons, Robert (wife, Kimberly) Trowbridge of Indianapolis; and Timothy Trowbridge of Acton; his sisters, Virginia (husband, Don) Gaultney of Anderson, and Margaret Mayles of Arizona; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
 

Joe retired from GM with over 25 years of service and from Disney World after 10 years of service all as an accomplished electrician.  He was a member and shop steward of Local 663 Guide of Anderson and IBEW local 606.
 

He was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan.  He enjoyed wood working.  Joe was always willing to help others, and was a friend to many.  He was a beloved Father, Husband, and friend who will be dearly remembered and missed.

Lisa Kay Aldridge, 55, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020 at her residence.

She was born May 15, 1965, in Indianapolis.  Lisa was the daughter of the late Beverly J. Dalzell.

Lisa graduated from Arlington High School in 1983.  She was a line worker at PMC Safe Solutions.

She was an avid fan of Def Leppard and an animal lover.  She would want to adopt every animal she came in contact with so it could be taken care of properly.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, Kenna.

Lisa is survived by her daughter, Chrystal (husband, Joseph) Castle of Greenwood, sons, Brady (wife, Ashley) Aldridge and Zachary Aldridge, all of Shelbyville, her granddaughter, Kenna Webb, her sister, Maria Butler of Indianapolis, and her beloved dog “Samson”.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and Uncle James ‘Jim’ Cutler.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Robert Dale Stansifer, 87, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 in Greenfield, Indiana. He was born July 4, 1933 to Addie Marcella Allen and John Dale Stansifer.

Robert was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Greenfield, and also served in the Navy. He worked as a machinist for Link Belt.

He is survived by his children, Brian Stansifer, Greg (Jan) Stansifer and Kent (Jennifer) Stansifer; five grandchildren, Stephanie Smith, Kennedie Stansifer, Camden Essex, Corey Stansifer and Casey Stansifer; eight great grandchildren, Boston, Beck, Finn, Isla, Dylan, Piper, McKenzie and Keller.

Robert's ashes will be spread with the love of his life's ashes, Gloria Willard Stansifer, in Waikiki, Hawaii.

Carol Ann Richardson, 74, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.

She was born December 12, 1945, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Robert Earl and Esther Frances (Cox) Lewis.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Springman of Shelbyville; brother, Gerald L. Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada; and granddaughters, Linda Johnson and Olivia Springman.

She graduated in 1964 from Morristown High School, and attended IBM Business School.

Carol was formerly a key punch operator for the State of Indiana.

She enjoyed embroidering, plastic canvas crafts and working jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite hobby was surfing the web and watching youtube on her ipad.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

Nancy A. Smoot, 91, of Greenfield, Indiana, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020. She was born March 12, 1929 to Bethel M. Hartzell and Robert E. Taylor. She married Robert H. Smoot on August 6, 1949.

Nancy was a deaconess at the Greenfield Christian Church and was involved in the Women’s Circle at the church. She was also actively involved with Meals on Wheels for many years. She was an avid bowler and liked to paint and swim. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 71 years, Robert; children, Mark (Jerri) Smoot, William (Beverly) Smoot, Duane (Cheryl) Smoot, Beth (Joe) Turpin and James (Denise) Smoot; 16 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Lila (Dave) Young; two grandchildren, Andrew Turpin and Nick Smoot; siblings, Lila, Pat, Robert, Lynn “Taddy”, William “Duke”, Frank and Everett.

Services will be held Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11:00 am at Greenfield Christian Church, 23 N East St, Greenfield, where a Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Pastor Frank Everett will be officiating. Interment in Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 E Washington St, Indianapolis, IN, immediately following the service.

All in attendance will be required to wear a mask and social distancing will be practiced.

Larry Wayne Scott, 62, of Lafayette Indiana, passed away Saturday, Novermber 7, 2020

at Franciscan Health in Lafayette.

Born September 27, 1958 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, he was the son of William M. Scott

and Lorene (Eberhart) Scott.

Survivors include his fiance Sue Howard of Lafayette; one son Kyle Scott (wife Nicole) of Shelbyville; one sister Senda Oliver (husband John) of Shelbyville; 2 grandsons- Everett & Hudson Scott; 2 nieces- Amy Turner (husband Frank) of Lafayette,  Kimberly Gilles (husband Ryan) of Shelbyvile; 2 great nieces- Katie Turner & Victoria Gilles; nephew  Bobby Turner of Lafayette;  great nephew Bobby Turner; and great great niece Brayleigh Mae Summers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son Tyler, and brother-in-law Robert L. Forrest.

Mr. Scott had lived in Lafayette for 2 years, after moving from Shelbyville.  He graduated from

Southwestern High School in 1976, and attended Mt. Gilead Baptist Church.

Larry will be greatly missed by his family, his fiance, and his cat Doc.

A private family burial will be held at a later date at Miller Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest.

Forrest Merrill “Bud” True, 82, of Flat Rock passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020, at his daughter’s home.

He was born August 21, 1938, in Indianapolis, the son of Forest S. and Alverta (Lewis) True. On August 29, 1959, he married his wife of 61 years, Joyce M. Ryan, and she survives.

In addition to Joyce, Bud is survived by daughters, Kelli Kappus and husband, Bob, of Indianapolis, Janice Huntsman and husband, Jerry, of Flat Rock, Teresa Lain and husband, Jack of Shelbyville, and Kathleen Krajcir and husband, Stephen, of Indianapolis; son, Jim True of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Leslie Foxlow, Joe Kappus, Anne Marie Kappus, James Huntsman, Susan Runnebohm, Jonathan Huntsman, Erika Huntsman, Beth Lain, Danny Lain, Tony Lain, Kevin Lain, Melissa Anthony, Amanda Jones and Stephen Krajcir; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rex True and Ernest True; and sister, Betty Haymaker.

He graduated in 1956 from Southport High School.

Bud worked for Culligan Fire Protection, as a sprinkler fitter, from 1961 to 1996. In 1996, he began working at the YMCA Flat Rock River Camp, until retiring in 2001. He enjoyed his life in the country.

He was a member of Local Union No. 669 of the Sprinkler Fitters.

Bud was very active in the Waldron Little League from 1974 to 1979.

He enjoyed woodworking, Bud made a cradle for each great-grandchild and a rocking chair for each grandchild.

Bud also leaves behind his kitty.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Wilma Redd, 56, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, November 7, 2020 at her residence.

She was born April 12, 1964 in Shelbyville to Francis W. Redd, Jr. and Sandra (Smith) Redd.

She is survived by her companion of 36 years, Teddy Nicholson; her mother, Sandra Redd of Shelbyville; her sisters, Mary Scroggham of Shelbyville, Ruth Phillips of Rushville, and Kathy Roan of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Wilma was a cook at Rushville Consolidated Schools and at worked at Shares, INC.  She enjoyed crocheting and traveling.  Her most precious times were spent with her family.

Josephine A. “Jody” Olinger, 87, of Fairland passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at Cypress Run in Morristown.

She was born March 19, 1933, in Acton, the daughter of Robert and Hazel Moore. On December 14, 1949, she married Richard L. “Dick” Olinger, and he preceded her in death on July 13, 2019.

Jody is survived by her sons, Robert L. Olinger of Shelbyville, and Tracy L. Olinger of Fairland; daughter, Terri L. Meal and husband, John, of Fairland; sister, Gwenn Kaster and husband, Carroll, of Fountaintown; eleven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Dick, Jody was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Karen L. Kremer; sister, Jane Maze; and brother, Glenn Moore.

Jody attended Franklin Township High School and New Life United Methodist Church.

She was formerly the manager of the Shelbyville License Branch and had previously worked as a bookkeeper in the Secretary of State office.

Jody had previously served as the treasurer of the Shelby County Democrat Central Committee. She had worked on the Shelby County Election Board for 20 years.

She was a 50-year member of the Acton and Fairland Chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star, and had served as Worthy Matron. Jody was also a member of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Daughters of the Nile and Order of Amaranth.

Jody was also a member of the Shelby County Extension Homemakers.

She enjoyed reading and running the roads.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Order of Eastern Star service will begin at noon, followed by the funeral service.

Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.

John E. Hungate, 71, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020

at MHP Medical Center.

Born March 13, 1949 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Everett L. Hungate and

Thelma L. (Roberts) Hungate.

Survivors include one son Andrew Hungate (fiance Cylie Collins) of Shelbyville; 

4 grandchildren- Makaila, Kalob, Whitney, and  Ashtin.  He is also survived by

several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother

Bill Hungate, and a sister Carolyn Johns.

Mr. Hungate had lived in this area his entire lifetime, and graduated from Waldron

High School.  He had been a factory worker at PK USA for several years and had

previously been a driver for Air Products for several years.  He also served in the

US Army National Guard.

John enjoyed the Indy 500 and car racing, talking politics, visiting with neighbors

and friends, spending time with his grandkids, and helping anyone out the needed

a hand.

Services will be at  6:00 pm on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Glenn E. George

and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Jimmy Hungate officiating.  Friends

may call on Saturday afternoon from 4:00 pm until the time of the service.

Martha A. Fortner, 92, of Shelbyville, former Decatur County resident, passed away Friday,
November 6, 2020 at Heritage House.

Born June 3, 1928 in Decatur County, she was the daughter of Ralph and Ethel (Scripture)
Conk.  She married Donald Fortner in 1947 and he preceded her on June 8, 2010.

Survivors include a son Michael Fortner (wife Dee) of Milford, a daughter Marilyn Pickett
(husband Morris) of Shelbyville; 5 grandchildren- Jim Wilkins (wife Reggie), Amy Morning
(husband Randy), Mike Fortner (wife Karrie), Heather Powers (husband Bob), Renee Pickett; and several great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 2 brothers, 
and one sister.

Mrs. Fortner was a lifelong resident of this area, and graduated from Burney High School
in 1946.  She had been a factory worker for 36 years with GE/Wellman's, retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the Milford Methodist Church and the Red Hat Society.

Martha enjoyed playing Bingo and attending church.  She was an avid Indiana University
basketball fan, and loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Glenn E. George 
Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin Street, St. Paul, with Pastor George Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Milford Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday
morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service.

Barbara J. (Hutton) Mattingly, New Palestine, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020 while residing at The Waters of Muncie, in Muncie. Barbara was born in Greenfield to Chester and Marie (Bever) Hutton. She is a Greenfield High School graduate. She also attended dental school in Indianapolis. She was united in marriage with Verne T. Mattingly.

Barbara loved living and working in the Midwest and did not venture far from home for work and enjoyment. Barbara worked 15 years at New Palestine High School as a choreographer for the Majorette and PomPom squads; as a dental assistant for 15 years in Indianapolis; 45 years as a bookkeeper for Mattingly Shell Station in New Palestine; and 23 years on the New Palestine Town Council. She attended New Palestine Christian Church. Her memberships included: Past Member and Past President of Psi Iota Xi Sorority; The Links of New Palestine Golf League; 50 years with Miriam #64; and The Order of the Eastern Star. Besides her love of golf, Barbara also loved to work crossword puzzles.

Barbara is survived by her loving nieces and nephews: Teri (David) Reed, Larry Hutton, Phillip (Fiona) Hutton, Dan (Jamie) Hutton, David Hutton, Judy Hunt, Sharon Junkins, Michelle Morrison, Mike Morrison, Julie Mattingly, and John Mattingly; and great-nieces and great-nephews: Lauren (Damien) Mazur-Hawcroft, Jason (Becci) Hutton, Jaime (Patrick) Early, and Michelle Hutton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verne Mattingly; siblings: twin, Phyllis Settles, Ralph Hutton, and Mike Hutton; and nephews: Scott Hutton and Doug Hutton.

Alice Elizabeth Cossairt, 93, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Ashford Place Health Campus in Shelbyville.

She was born February 7, 1927, in Shelby County, the daughter of John and Rose (Cord) Runnebohm. In October of 1946, she married John W. Cossairt, and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1994.

Alice is survived her daughters, Marjorie Herridge and spouse, William, of Anderson, Anne Cossairt of Indianapolis, and Beth Cossairt and spouse, Jill Hoy, of Bloomington; sons, Will Cossairt and spouse, Diane, of West St. Paul, Minnesota, and Jim Cossairt and spouse, Nancy, of Shelbyville; brothers, Nick Runnebohm and Steve Runnebohm and spouse, Karen, both of Shelbyville; sisters, Margie Long and spouse, Don, of Greenfield, and Janice Crane and spouse, Sam, of St. Paul; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to John, Alice was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herb Runnebohm, Bob Runnebohm and Dan Runnebohm; sisters, Mary Hauk and Virginia M. Vrooman.

Alice graduated in 1945 from Waldron High School.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Altar Society.

Alice was a florist for Cossairt Florist for 50 years, retiring in 1990.

She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Tammy L. Heller, 54, of Fairland passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis.

She was born December 10, 1965, in Irving, New York, the daughter of Henry Ellison and Betty Jane (Solberg) Jones. On July 3, 2007, she married Jeffery Heller, and he survives.

In addition to Jeffery, Tammy is survived by her children, Matthew Ryan Heller and wife, Tiffany, of Buffalo, New York, Sara Jane Heller and Ethan Jeffery Heller, both of Fairland, Tabitha Lynn Cox and husband, John, of Greenwood, Michael Anthony Heller and wife, Elizabeth, of Carnesville, Georgia, Jeremy David Heller and wife, Whitney, of Indianapolis, and David Saltares and wife, Waleska, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; sisters, Cindy Smith and husband, Kenny, of Derby, New York, and Sandy Ells and husband, Rick, of Angola, New York; brothers, Scott Jones and wife, Donna, of Rochester, New York, Earl Jones and wife, Deny, of Derby, and Henry Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Noah, Caleb, Sophia, Aneila, Giovanni, Harper and Jayden; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tammy was preceded in death by her parents.

She graduated in 1984 from Lake Shore Central High School in New York.

Tammy was a member of Fairland Christian Church.

She worked as a cook at Triton Central High School, with over 10 years of service. She also participated in the Good News Club.

Tammy enjoyed watching home improvement shows and flipping designs. She also enjoyed playing games on her phone, watching soap operas, and spending time with her family.

She also leaves behind her dog, Nala and cat, Sassy.

Tammy was an avid Buffalo Bills fan.

Mary Ann Wasson, 99, of Shelbyville passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Heritage House of Shelbyville.

She was born February 27, 1921, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Fred and Margaret H. (Robins) Cossairt. In June of 1940, she married James Herbert Wasson, and he preceded her in death on February 17, 1991.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughters, Judy Mitchell and husband, William, of Shelbyville, and Nancy Merry of Floyds Knobs; grandchildren, Elaine Bennett and husband, Brent, Greg Merry, Mark Mitchell, and Emily Clayton and husband, Kyle; great-grandchildren, Davis Merry, Emma Merry, Parker Bennett, Molly Bennett, Agatha Mitchell, Brynn Rohde, Evynn Rohde and Merynn Clayton.

In addition to James, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty Thomas; and son-in-law, David Merry.

Mary Ann graduated in 1939 from Shelbyville High School, and studied a floral design course and then working at Cossairt Florist.

She was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she served as an elder and Sunday school teacher. Mary Ann was a wonderful helpmate to her husband, while he was a lay pastor at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church. She would often open her home to others and was known for her hospitality.

Mary Ann retired, after 24 years of service in 1984, as head bookkeeper from First Federal Savings and Loan.

She enjoyed reading, quilting and sewing.

Mary Ann was a shining example, a problem solver and nurturer. She was independent, compassionate, loving and kind. Mary Ann always had a positive outlook on life. She was also a devoted caregiver to her husband during a lengthy illness.

She was also a member of Delta Theta Tau.

Private graveside services will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville. A Celebration of Mary Ann’s life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church at a later date.

Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Tracey Bruner-Bushby, 63, of Flat Rock, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at her son’s home in Hope.

She was born August 18, 1957 in Greensburg to Albert Bruner and Eula (Pate) Bruner.

She married her husband of 39 years, Albert Bushby on August 22, 1981, and he survives.

She is also survived by her son Sky (wife, Elizabeth) Bushby, her daughter, Odessa Bushby, her grandson, Luke Bushby, her sister, Diane Bruner-Ray, and her brother, Todd Bruner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her niece, Tina.

Tracey was a lifelong homemaker.  She enjoyed singing karaoke under her stage name, “Rock and Roll Gypsy”.  Her most precious times were spent with her family and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Aleana Marie Creekmore, 68 of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020

at her residence.

Born June 21, 1952 in Decatur, Indiana, she was the daughter of Frederick Robert Bailer

and Geneva Jane (Tucker) Pope.  She married Charles Creekmore in 1984 and he survives.

Other survivors include a son Brian Creekmore (fiance Monquie Lagrange) of Shelbyville,

2 stepsons- David & Mark Creekmore, daughter Kelly Boles (husband Scott) of Shelbyville,

sons Jimmy & James; 1 brother, 3 sisters- Carol Law, Rebecca Baker, & Cherice Sayre; 

and 7 grandchildren- Braxton, Brevan, Scotty, David, Skydawn, Ashley, & Amanda; and

several great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a stepson, and a sister.

Mrs. Creekmore had lived in this area for 35 years after moving from Florida.  She was a 

 home maker and a member of American Legion Auxiliary and the Eagles Auxiliary.

Aleana enjoyed playing cards, playing Bingo, fishing, going to the casino, and spending

time with her family and grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Sandra Sue Olson, 67, of Greenfield peacefully passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 31, 1953 to George and Mildred Stunda.

Sandra enjoyed gardening, travel, decorating her house, cooking, entertaining family and friends, and driving her yellow convertible. She was involved with the Biz ZB Club.

She is survived by her husband, Phil Olson; sons, Doug Olson and Greg (Cara) Olson; 4 grandchildren, Katelynn Lee, Tuesday, Olivia and Averie Olson; siblings, Joni Moeller, David Stunda, Libby (Barry) Brown, Chris (Tammy) Stunda, Julie Strohl, Tim Stunda and Tom (Shelby) Stunda, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call Friday, November 6, 2020 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 6:00 pm.

Wilmer L. "Gert" McNeely Jr, age 93, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Ashford Place.

Born July 9, 1927 in Shelbyville he was the son of Wilmer Lloyd McNeely  and Hazel (Nellis) McNeely. He married Juanita (Freese) McNeely on May 29, 1952 and she survives.

Other survivors include children- Rick McNeely (wife Debbie) of Greenwood, Randy McNeely (wife Sheila) of North Carolina, Ryan McNeely (wife Patti) of Greenfield; 9 grandchildren- Christina, Sarah, Brandon, Tyler, Connor, Parker, Alexandra, Sam & Maya; and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and 4 brothers & 1 sister.

Mr. McNeely had lived in this area his entire lifetime and was employed with GE/Wellman's in management for 37 years, retiring in 1992. Wilmer graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1946, was a member of First Baptist Church for 80 years, a member of Shelbyville Masonic, Eagles, Moose  & Elks Lodge.

Gert was an avid Purdue fan. He enjoyed playing cards, playing golf, which he continued to play 

up through his 80's, and loved his family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who

were his greatest joy.

Private family funeral services will be observed. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. 

No visitation will be observed.

Christine Chappelow, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at Heritage House. 

Born August 20, 1934, in Penick County, Ky, she was the daughter of William and Odie (Mann) Smothers. She married Clarence "Sonny" Chappelow on December 26, 1951 and he preceded her in death on July 14,2016.

She is survived by 2 sons: Jeff (Dina) Chappelow of St. Paul and Chad Chappelow of Shelbyville and 2 daughters: Pamela Payne of Shelbyville and Connie (Larry) Meece of St. Paul.  Other survivors include 13 grandchildren: Zandria Hopkins, Carina Gleissner, Christian Chappelow, Alicia Rampoldt, Glydel (Bless) Guerrero, Jeffina Chappelow, Zachary Meece, Leeya Metz, Joshua

Chappelow, Caleb Chappelow, Colin Chappelow, Nicole Nelson, Ashley Chappelow and 17 great grandchildren: Lilly Hopkins, Ephram Hopkins, Erik Rampoldt, Lia Isabella Rampoldt, Lily Chappelow, Ellie Metz, Emmy Metz, William Metz, Charlie Meece, Blake Chappelow,

Kerriona Chappelow, Terence Chappelow, Gabriella Chappelow, Daniel Garret Jr., Zaine Chappelow, Addylynn Chappelow, and Ryan Chappelow.

She is also survived by one sister, Polly Smothers of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers John Alvin Smothers, Carl Smothers, John (JB) Smothers Earl Smothers, Claude Smothers, and 1 sister, Maude "Judy" Booth. 

Mrs. Chappelow had been a lifelong resident of this area. She was a homemaker and had graduated from Waldron High School.

She was a member of Wesley Chapel Church for 67  years, where she served as song leader, Sunday school treasurer, missionary society president, church treasurer and vacation Bible School director during her lifetime.

Christine loved God and her family.  She enjoyed having family gatherings, serving God through her church, cooking, fishing, and gardening.

A private family service will be observed at the Glenn E. George Funeral Home in St. Paul with burial at Van Pelt Cemetery in Waldron.

James A. ‘Jim’ Elliott, 78, of Shelbyville passed away Saturday, October 31, 2020 at MHP Medical Center.

He was born October 22, 1942 in Laconia, NH to Arthur Conner Elliott and Gertrude (Kendall) Elliott.

Jim is survived by his son, Michael (wife, Angi) Elliott; his grandchildren, Hannah, Connor, and Brayden Elliott; his brothers, Donald (wife, Patricia) Elliott of Seminole, FL; and John Elliott, of DaNang, Vietnam; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Elliott of Orlando, FL. and also dearly loved by Seth, Jordan, and Lucas Bledsoe.

He was preceded in death by his parents and ex-wife, Mary Elliott.

He worked in accounting and was employed as a restaurant manager.

Jim attended Shelbyville Community Church.  He was an avid Tampa Bay Buccaneer football fan, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He really enjoyed watching all the Hallmark movies.  He loved to watch his grandsons play soccer and he was super proud of his granddaughter for her education and her accomplishments for taking steps for self healing

Beverlee “Bev” Carlton, 84, of Morristown passed away Monday, November 2, 2020, at her home.

She was born April 2, 1936, in Morristown, the daughter of John Robert Unger and Esther E. (Nigh) Unger Frazier. In Germany, on March 9, 1957, she married William Curtis “Bill” Carlton, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2015.

Bev is survived by three sons, Jeffery Allen Carlton and wife, Kim, Douglas Dean Carlton, and Bruce William Carlton and wife, Kelly, all of Morristown; grandchildren, Kreigh Carlton and wife, Katee, Lacy Carlton, Bryce Carlton, Jacob Carlton, Kaylin VanBenthuysen and husband, Matthew, Heath Carlton, Melia Rude and husband, Nathan, and Chelsy White and husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Trevon, Olivia, Nadia, Brynn, Braxton, Broden, Brycen, Brooklynn, Kannon, Kaiden, David and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Bill, Bev was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, E. L. “Red” Frazier; sister, Barbara Whittington; and niece, Sherry (Whittington) Vernick.

Bev graduated in 1954 from Morristown High School.

She was a member of the Gwynneville United Methodist Church.

Bev was a farm wife. She and Bill owned and operated Frazier Funeral Home until retiring, they were a past member of the Morristown Chamber of Commerce.

She was a member of the Red Hats Society and enjoyed playing cards with her card club. Bev was an avid Morristown sports fan and also enjoyed Cincinnati Reds baseball.

Bev was active in the Northeastern Hometown Blue River Foundation.

Most importantly, Bev loved to spend time with her family.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Nick Keaton officiating.

Michael “Mick” Freeland McDuffey, 77, of Shelbyville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his home in Shelbyville, Indiana.

Mick was born in Shelbyville, Indiana to Rosco Freeland McDuffey and Pauline (Brown) on July 8, 1943.  Mick attended and graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1961.  He worked several years as a supervisor for Overhead Door Company until their closure, and then went on to become the supervisor for KCL Corporation until their closure in 2004. Mick was an active member of Second Baptist Church, where he was the chairman of the Trustee Board, a member of the Brotherhood Men’s Group, and the dedicated and beloved van driver for the Children’s Sunday School. Mick spent his earlier years enjoying and being active playing softball, bowling, fishing, and hunting. After retiring, Mick could always be found supporting his grandchildren and other family members in their sporting and school events. He also enjoyed and took pride in coaching his grandsons in the SEFA Football League. He was an avid sports fan who was always supporting Indiana University Hoosiers and the Indianapolis Colts. Mick could also be found enjoying his retirement gambling at the casino!

Ruth Marie Satterfield, 86, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2020 at her residence.

She was born October 10, 1934 in Laurel, IN to Ruben Reynolds and Mattie (Geer) Reynolds. 

Ruth is survived by her sons, Phillip (wife, Sheila) Satterfield; Donnie Ray (wife, June) Satterfield; her daughters, Rhonda Carpenter (companion, Bob Lowery); Deena Davis, and Marcella (husband, Donnie) Gabbard; her sister, Helen Carpenter, several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jeffrey Dean Satterfield.

Ruth was a member of Grace Wesleyan Church.  She was a cook at the Shelby County Jail and Heritage House.  She enjoyed listening to Gospel cd’s, reading, and her trips to Brown County.  Her most precious times were spent with her family.

Bradley Gene Nigh, 88, of Shelbyville passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020, at Heritage House of Shelbyville.

He was born August 7, 1932, in Shelby County, the son of Paul and Clara (Moore) Nigh. On January 18, 1957, he married his wife of 63 years, Barbara Clark, and she survives.

In addition to Barbara, Brad is survived by his daughter, Christine Nigh-Muldoon and husband, Dennis Wayne, of Shelbyville; sisters, Dorothy Sexton and Donna Smothers, both of Shelbyville; grandsons, Bradley Wayne Muldoon and wife, Jennifer, and Jonathan Christopher Muldoon and girlfriend, Trica Muse; and great-grandchildren, Andrew Muldoon, Karlene Muldoon and Emma Muldoon.

Brad was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Nigh, Marvin Nigh and Steve Nigh; and sisters, Frances Hoff, Phillis James, Joan Murphy and Mary Myers.

He graduated in 1950 from Shelbyville High School.

Brad attended Shelbyville Community Church.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1954 to 1956. Brad served at Fort Leonard Wood and West Point.

Brad retired from Coca Cola Bottling Company in 1995, with 39 years of service.

He was a past member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

Brad enjoyed traveling and going fishing, especially in Canada and Florida.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Maurice Finkel, 97, passed away on October 30, 2020.

He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on July 22, 1923. He was the son of Benjamin and Jessie Finkel.

Maurice attended Baron Byng High School in Montreal and was a design draftsman for Canadian Vickers (later Fairchild and Canadair) Aircraft after graduating. During WWII he was assigned by Canadair to Douglas Aircraft in Santa Monica, California. He worked on the Beaufort and Bolingbroke (Blenheim) Bombers as well as the PBV-1 Canso (Consolidated PBY Catalina) being built under license. He was proud of designing the overhead cockpit window seal in the PBV and had several test flights from the St. Lawrence River.

After the War he started selling auto parts in Canada for Lion Auto Parts, Chicago. He covered Quebec and the Maritime Provinces. In 1948 he took a territory in the United States calling on customers in Indiana, Kentucky, and West Virginia. The company later became C. Mills Automotive.

In 1969 Maurice started National Automotive Lines. He spent his career in auto parts. He later specialized in standard transmission parts and distributed his transmission kits through Blue River Supply. He worked until his death.

Maurice received numerous awards and recognitions including Master Pilot status by the FAA for over 50 years of safe flying. He soloed in April 1946 in a Fleet Model 7 and went on to fly over 40 aircraft types including aerobatics. He was the glider tow pilot in a Tiger Moth for the Montreal Glider Club. Maurice was an honorary life member of the Indiana University Alumni Association, a Kentucky Colonel, and attended Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation. He was a member of the Elks Club and Exchange Club. Maurice spoke fluent English, French, and Yiddish.

Maurice, along with his wife Carol, was a founding member of the Shelby Community Band and the Shelby Arts Council. He was active in Music Study Club and Community Concerts. He continued to play clarinet in the Shelby Community Band. Maurice played his circus calliope in parades. He performed 28 years at the Indiana State Fair tractor parade and many local and regional parades and festivals. He loved sharing his music.

Maurice married Carol Lee Drevno and the couple raised four children. Cydney (Joel) Fox, Sondra (Andy) Fogle, Kenneth (Ann) Finkel, and David (Sarah) Finkel. He leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be missed by his special friend Mariá del Pilar Penas Aldrey of Spain. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents, 3 brothers, and daughter Sondra.

He was naturalized as an American citizen in 1961.

Calling will be held at Freeman Family Funeral Home at 819 S. Harrison Street. Calling will be from 4pm - 8pm on Monday, November 2, 2020.

The graveside service and burial will be at 10am Tuesday, November 3, at the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation Cemetery, 1300 E 161st St, Westfield, IN.

John Roscoe “John R.” Scott, 77, of Shelbyville passed away Friday, October 30, 2020, at Heritage House of Shelbyville.

He was born January 6, 1943, in Johnson Co., Indiana, the son of Eugene and Margaret Ellen (Willard) Scott. On December 14, 1963, he married his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Lou Eidem, and she survives.

As a team, John R. and Bonnie raised two wonderful sons, Shane Eric Scott and wife, Melissa, of Edinburgh, and Tyler Cory Scott and wife, Jill, of Marietta. Also surviving John R. are his brothers, Donald Scott, Glen Dale Scott and wife, Barbara, Marlin Scott and wife, Sonya, Robert Scott and wife, Becky, and Kevin Scott; and sister, Kathy Kelley; sister-in-law, Linda Richard and husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Paul Eidem and wife, Sue; and numerous nieces and nephews. John R. was preceded in death by his parents.

He graduated in 1961 from Southwestern High School. Later, John R. served on the Southwestern School Board for eight years.

John R. was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

He was in the auction profession for over 50 years, starting late in high school. He and Bonnie owned and operated John R. Scott Auctions, retiring in 2014. Together they conducted many charity auctions for the Shelbyville Rotary Club, cake auctions for the Cub Scouts, as well as, benefit auctions for the Arts Council. John R. received the Paul Harris Award from the Rotary Club, for his dedication to their club.

John R. and Bonnie owned and operated Scott’s One Stop Lawn Shop, for 23 years. They started selling Allis Chalmer, Wheel Horse, Lawn Boy and Stihl equipment. After moving the business to town in 1988, they closed in 1994. He also sold real estate with Don Kelley.

John R. was a member of the Indiana Auctioneers Association and was a member of the Marietta Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He loved working with his horses, training and riding, Sunny, Red, Buddy and Breeze.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2020, at the funeral home, with Rev. Beth Crouch officiating.

Interment will be at Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
