Sandra Kay Hobbs, 81, former Shelbyville resident, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at West Boca Medical Center, Boca Raton, Florida.

Born June 30, 1942, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Leonard Griffith and Edna (Ratekin) Griffith.  She married George W. Hobbs on May 31, 1980, and he survives.

Other survivors include 2 sons- Shawn Mann (wife Kristin) of Florida, Rob Mann (wife Amy) of Minnesota; a sister Elizabeth Calloway of Shelbyville; and 3 grandchildren - Rob Mann, Anabel Mann, and Clare Mann. Mrs. Hobbs shared a very special relationship with her 3rd cousin Ashley Frazee. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers - David Griffith, Thomas Griffith, Harold Griffith, Edward Griffith, and Jay Griffith, and sisters - Barbara Barrett and Dorothy Parsley.

Mrs. Hobbs graduated from Shelbyville High School. Mrs. Hobbs worked at the Indiana State Office Building and for many years at KCL Corp. in Shelbyville. She was also a homemaker.

Mrs. Hobbs loved music (especially Elvis and Conway Twitty), traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Later in life she took up painting and became quite good.

A Celebration of Sandra's Life will be 1:00 pm on Friday, March 1, 2024 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.  

Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service, at which time friends and family are invited to share recollections and their memories of Sandra.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Janice “Jan” Lynn Morris, 65, of Edinburgh, passed away Monday January 29, 2024 at her residence with her family by her side.

She was born February 17, 1958 in Akron, OH. to Charles Boyle and Anna Mae (Wanzie) Boyle.

Jan graduated from Kenmore High School in 1976.

Jan was a member of the Sassy Southerners Group.  Among her favorite hobbies were cooking, gardening, and most of all shopping.  She also loved to read in her down time.  She was very witty and always had a funny story or one liner to add to any conversation. Jan enjoyed adventuring out and trying new food and different restaurants.  Family was extremely important to her and the time spent with her daughters and grandkids were her favorite.

She married James K. Morris on July 18, 1996 and he survives. They spent 27 wonderful years of marriage together.

She is also survived by her daughters, Stephanie Faith and Logan Morris; her step-sons, Eric Morris and Derek Morris; her grandchildren, Ozzy Mutindi, Ella Morris, Daci Morris, Haven Canner, Derek Morris and Damon Morris; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Michael Stanford.

A Gathering of Friends will be Saturday, March 2, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison Street, Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Joyce Lynn Small, 76, of Morristown, passed away, Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Compass Park in Franklin.
She was born April 8, 1947, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Richard D. and Margaret P. (Powell) Unger.  On August 2, 1969, she married Lonnie Maurcee Small and he preceded her in death on November 6, 2021.
Joyce is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Aaron and Jan Small of Canton, Georgia; nephew, Bart Small and wife, Nicole, of Atlanta, Georgia; great-nephew, Ford Small of Atlanta, Georgia; great-niece, Finley Small of Atlanta, Georgia; and several cousins.
In addition to Lonnie, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce was a member of the Morristown Methodist Church, where she had served as administrator of the board.
She was a 1965 graduate of Morristown High School.  She also graduated from Indiana University, with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy, in 1969.
Joyce was a Physical Therapist at Hancock Regional Hospital, retiring in July of 2012.
She had also served on the Asbury Cemetery Board for over 35 years.
Joyce was a very active member of the Order of Eastern Star, joining in January of 1973.  She was the Past Matron of the Morristown Order of Eastern Star Chapter No. 316 and Ransford Indiana Masonic Home Chapter No. 605.  Joyce was also a member of the Fairland Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 359.  She also served as the Grand Matron of the Indiana Grand Chapter 1992-1993.  She also served on the Board of Grand Trustees from 2012 to 2017.
She was also a member of the Daylight Court No. 31 Order of the Amaranth, since 2007.
Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm, Friday, March 1, 2024, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St., in Morristown.
Order of Eastern Star services will begin at 1 pm, Friday, the funeral service will follow, officiated by Brother Cleon Wright.
Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.

June M. Neeb, 87, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at her residence.

Born February 2, 1937 in Beech Grove, she was the daughter of Henry Earl Rouse and Ernestine (Cutter) Rouse.  She married Ronald Hugh Neeb on November 5, 1971 and he survives.

Survivors include 3 children- Bill Riggs (wife Kido) of Aurora, Colorado, Bob Riggs (wife Suzanne) of Oakdale, California, Janet Moulton (husband Charles) of Greensburg; 2 stepchildren- Kent Neeb (wife Lisa) of Shelbyville, Mary Kay McCauley (husband Ray) of Lafayette; 2 sisters- Evelyn Reed of Nebraska, Nancy Holt of Ohio, and a brother John Rouse (wife Diane) of Greyslake, Illinois; 3 grand

daughters, 2 step granddaughters and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Neeb was a lifelong resident of this area and attended Shelbyville High School.  She had been a factory worker at Overhead Door Corp. in Shelbyville, retiring after 20 years of service.

June enjoyed sewing, and loved making doll clothes, growing flowers, and dearly loved her dogs, including Baby Girl.

Private graveside services will be 1:00 pm on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Forest Hill Cemetery, with Pastors Mark Vice and Dennis Spears officiating. Friends may call on Monday morning from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.

David L. Bontrager, 70, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 29, 1953 in Elkhart, IN to Levi E and Ada Mae (Eash) Bontrager.

David married Cheri Micchia on July 14, 1990 and the following year they welcomed a new addition when son Elijah joined big brother, Adam.

David was a proud Union Carpenter and a member of the Carpenters Union Local 301. He loved spending time with his family, and his dog, Johnny. David also enjoyed going to the casino with his wife, fishing, gardening, and riding his Harley Davidson

David is survived by his wife, Cheri, his sons Elijah (wife, Jessie) Bontrager and Adam (wife, Gabriella) Klos, 3 grandsons, Caleb, Nolan, and Luis, his brothers, Daniel (wife, Anna) Bontrager, Samuel (wife, Rhonda) Bontrager, Ervin (wife, Linda) Bontrager, Melvin (wife, Ann) Bontrager, Ray (wife, Regina) Bontrager, and Earl (wife, Angela) Bontrager, his sisters, Esther (husband, Lamar) Hochstetler, Freda (husband, David) Zehr, Wilma (husband, Galen) Miller, Mary Sue (husband, Aden) Chupp and Irene (husband, Vernon) Schmucker, 56 nephews and nieces, plus at least 96 great nephews and nieces.

Stephen Mitchell, 80, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday February 9, 2024 at his residence.

He was born February 23, 1943 in Blue Ridge, IN. to William Mitchell and Wilma (Sullivan) Mitchell.

Stephen graduated from Waldron High School.

He served in the United States Army.

Stephen was a member of the VFW, American Legion and NRA.

He married Mary (Leap) Mitchell in 1978 and she preceded him in death on May 12, 2007. 

Stephen is survived by his sister, Patricia Mercer; his children, Keith Kuhn, Angela Miles, Ann Ashcraft, Todd Kuhn,  Eva Carter and Melissa Kuhn ; his grandchildren, Brooke Allen, Ryan Kuhn, Brandon Kuhn, Kory Kuhn, Chrystain Kuhn, Careressa Gaines, Collin Mitchell, Kinsey Taylor, Jessica Taylor, Sarah Pogue, Sharon Pogue, Dylan Post, Sandra Salazar, Yesenia Rivera, Osiel Rivera, Valyncia Carter, Eleisha Carter, Julie Carter, Tammara Carter and Devin Carter; several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Born April 10, 1960 in Indianapolis, he was the son of  Donald Smith and Deloris (Brown) Smith.

Crystal Lynn Ortel, 49, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024.

She was born June 26, 1974, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Henry Cristofori Jr. and Beverly (Allen) Cristofori.  On August 2, 1997, she married Chad Eugene Ortel, and he survives.

In addition to Chad, Crystal is survived by her mother of Shelbyville; her children, Allyssa Marie Steele and husband, Caleb, of Indianapolis, Owen Ortel of Shelbyville, and Seth Ortel of Southport; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Larrry and Janice Ortel of Fairland; sister-in-law, Mandy Marie Fleming of Zionsville; nieces, Claire Fleming and Sylvie Fleming.

She was preceded in death by her father.

In 1992, Crystal graduated from Shelbyville High School.  She received an associates’ degree in Secretarial Science from Ivy Tech.

She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed helping with church dinners.

Crystal was currently employed as the Office Business Manager for Bloom Senior Living.  She had previously worked for Reed Enterprises from 1992 until December 31, 2007, then at Kent Property Group beginning in 2008.   Crystal also worked very hard, at the family owned and operated business, Cousins Tents and More, from 2010 until 2021.

She enjoyed playing pool, exercising, reading, gardening, making family recipes, going on long walks and going for motorcycle rides with Chad.  She also enjoyed hosting and attending family events, helping other people, and being a caretaker for family members and close friends.

Crystal loved being a mother to her three children and spending time with them and Caleb and Kenzee. Some of her favorite times were the annual vacations in Florida and hanging by the pool hosting pool parties.

She was preceded in death by the beloved family dog of 17 years, Koda Bear.

Visitation will be from 10 am to 1 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, 6513 W 300 S, New Palestine, Indiana 46163.

Funeral services will follow at 1 pm, Saturday, at the church, with Pastor Jason Taylor officiating.

Interment will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

Brenda Jean De Arc Anthony, 35, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Major Health Partners in Shelbyville.

She was born August 30, 1988, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, the daughter of Cyrille and Brenda (Morris) Turcotte.

Brenda is survived by her sisters, Bonnie Hopper of Coconut Creek, Florida, Rochelle Anthony of Naples, Florida, and Melissa Anthony of Orlando, Florida; and brother, Thomas Anthony of Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Brenda’s favorite colors were pink and orange.

After 95 wonderful years, Elmer Harlan Brattain passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at Cypress Run, Morristown Manor in Morristown.

A lifelong resident, Elmer was born in Shelbyville on January 3, 1929, the son of Floyd Brattain and Geraldine (Jones) Crosby.  On November 14, 1953, he married Elsie “Mickey” Kreiger, and she preceded him in death on March 17, 1996.  He married Sharon Coers Hebbe on May 12, 1999, and she survives.

Elmer is survived by his son, William “Scott” Brattain and favorite daughter-in-law, Mary Brattain, of Shelbyville; daughter, Pamela Brattain of Greensburg; his beloved grandson, Jake Brattain, of Shelbyville; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to Mickey, Elmer was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Kay McBroom, Carolyn Schnieder, and Beverly Sue Mitchko; and brother, Floyd Dale Brattain.

Post-graduation from Shelbyville High School in 1947, Elmer worked in construction before entering the U.S. Army and serving during the Korean Conflict. He spoke proudly of his service, being discharged on September 10, 1953, as a Master Sergeant.

Elmer spent many years in the construction industry, working for Geupel DeMars, Inc., managing projects such as the restoration of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument and construction of the Indiana School for the Deaf, and with his own company Brattain Company, Inc.

After his retirement, Elmer continued to serve his community and live life to the fullest – he held a private pilot’s license and was President of the Shelbyville Aviation Board for many years, he volunteered at Major Hospital, he was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, he deep sea fished with his son in Florida, and he frequently helped on his grandson’s construction projects. He loved spending time with his family and friends, sharing stories and offering encouragement with a smile.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cypress Run for their care and compassion over Elmer’s last few months.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, February 16, 2024, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Kristopher M. Zamudio, 38, of Carthage, passed away February 3, 2024 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital.

He was born February 14, 1985 in Del Rio, TX. to Ernest Zamudio and Beverly (McGaha) Gilaspy.

Kris attended Walnut Ridge Friends Church.

He had a close group of friends that he enjoyed riding around with, working and playing cards together.  Some of his favorite times were spent making memories with his family.  Kris loved the times he was able to go out to eat, visit haunted houses and especially his walks to the bridge with Emma.

Kris is survived by his mother, Beverly (husband, Greg) Gilaspy; his daughter, Emma Zamudio; his sons, Spencer Stoops and Tristen Love; his uncle, Tim (wife, Bee) McGaha.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Zamudio; his uncles, Randy McGaha and Keith McGaha; his grandparents, Wanda and Ralph Thomas, Bob Gilaspy and Billy Joe McGaha.

Betty L. Owens, 85, of Shelbyville, passed away February 5, 2024 at her residence.

She was born September 15, 1938 in Russell Springs, KY. to Harley West and Opal (Tucker) West.

Betty enjoyed working in her yard and making her flowers look beautiful.

She married Larry K. Owens and they spent 57 wonderful years together he preceded her in death on July 20, 2020.

Betty is also survived by her daughters, Toni Jones and Marlene Finley; her son, Dennis Owens; her brothers, Garlin West, Michael West.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her brother, Bobby West; her sisters, Jeanie and Sissy.

Gail Ann (Brown) Nellis, 70, of Pleasant View, passed away, Monday, February 5, 2024, at her home surrounded by family and her little dog, Leo.

She was born October 3, 1953, in Dayton, OH, the daughter of Albert and the late Adeline (Koogler) Brown. On October 19, 1974, she married Fulton J. Nellis.

In addition to Fulton, Gail is survived by her father of Lewisburg, OH; daughter, Joy (Doug) of Greenfield; son, Johnny (Jaron) of Indianapolis; sister, Connie (Glen) Roe of Germantown, OH; and brothers, Dale (Tonna) Brown of Enon, OH, and Don Brown of Dayton, OH. 

She is preceded in death by her mother and both sets of grandparents. 

In 1971, Gail graduated from Twin Valley North in Lewisburg, OH. She received a nursing degree from Miami Valley Hospital, School of Nursing. 

Gail was a Registered Nurse for 40 years at Major Hospital. During her retirement she worked in the bakery part-time at Kroger. She enjoyed gardening, participating in her church’s activities, helping her community, and traveling with her sister. Her greatest joy was her children.

Family will receive friends Noon to 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Pleasant View Baptist Church - 12442 Southeastern Ave., Indianapolis, IN. The funeral service will follow.

John Calvin Zellers, 85, a master storyteller and well-known resident of Winamac, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024.

He was born at his grandparent’s house in Winamac on November 17, 1938 to the late Robert Clair and Mabel E. [Calvin] Zellers. John graduated from Winamac High School with the class of 1957. That same year, he was introduced to Sandra K. Neese, and they were married by the Rev. Dallas Rissler on January 16, 1960 in Logansport, IN. John served 8 years as an infantryman in the Indiana Army National Guard. He was proud to serve his country, receiving an honorable discharge in 1964.

As a fourth generation painter, John continued the family legacy of interior/exterior decorating which began in 1884 when his family arrived in the area from Lancaster, PA. He enjoyed painting and the people for whom he worked. John was a man of many talents and had a love for the Tippecanoe River. He and his wife, Sandy, owned and operated Zellers Canoe-N-Ski Haus and Zellers Canoe Rentals. He was a life-member of the US Canoe Association. He enjoyed participating in canoe racing as well as organizing Arrowhead Canoe Races. John loved fishing, and found joy in teaching his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren to fish. In recent years, he enjoyed working for Bite Me Tackle (Brad’s business).

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as a great friend to many. He will be dearly missed. (As will his stories.)

Son Ok Slevin, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday January 31, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

She was born May 21, 1950 in South Korea to Chong Yun Kim and Yong Sun Kwon.

Son loved to cook and work in her garden.  Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family.

She married John Slevin on November 22, 1985 and he survives. 

Son is also survived by her daughter, Lesley Slevin; her sons, Christopher Slevin and John Slevin Jr.; her grandchildren, Jessica Belcher, Ashley Jackson, Alex Chance, Katyln Chance and Jason Holtz; her great-grandchildren, Andrew Perry, Elizabeth Yax, Israel Jackson and Annabeth Chance.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Won Tae Kwon and Chu Tae Kim; her sister, Tae Ul Kim; her father-in-law, Samuel Slevin; her mother-in-law, Doris Slevin and her daughter, Elizabeth (Slevin) Chance.

Lora "Jane" Richardson, 95, of Shelbyville, passed away on Friday, February 2, 2024 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Shelbyville on September 30, 1928 to Frank Cherry and Lora Bernice (Boger) Cherry. On August 29th, 1948, she married John Albert Richardson Jr. who preceded her in death on June 1, 2012.

Jane was a faithful follower of Christ and a 70 plus year member of Lewis Creek Baptist Church where she was a member of the Missionary Society and the Agape Sunday School class. In her youth, Jane was actively involved in 4-H, becoming a 10-year member  before becoming a 4-H leader in adulthood.

As the wife of a fireman, Jane was a founding member of the Women's Fireman Auxiliary. In her professional life, Jane was a Title 1 Aid for 23 years at Pearson Elementary School before becoming a substitute teacher who worked throughout the county. Most notably, Jane utilized her expert sewing capabilities as a professional seamstress for decades sewing gowns for prom, May Fest, and weddings for women across the county and countless items for her beloved children and grandchildren.

Jane's mother passed at a very young age at which time her older sister, Eloise filled the role of mother, sister, and best friend. Eloise taught her how to sew at a young age and she passed this valuable skill down to her children and grandchildren.

Surviving loved ones include her children, Steve Richardson (Jane), Bev Carson (Kevin), Mary Lou Hilderbrand (Jay), Tom Richardson (Michelle), and son-in-law, Scott Newkirk. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael Richardson, Carrie Johnson (Roger), Jill Coen (Keith), Christa Weaver (Jeremy), Andrew Newkirk (Natasha), Sarah Newkirk, Whitney Mahin (Brett), Jacob Richardson, Bradley Hilderbrand, Adam Richardson, 10 great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat Willy.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Francis, Jesse, & Wray, sister Eloise Tucker, husband John, daughter Margaret Newkirk, and two infant sons, David & James.

She will be remembered by her family for her steadfast devotion to her faith, her family, and her community.

A visitation will be held at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, in Shelbyville, on Tuesday, February 6, 2024 from 5:30 until 7:30 pm.

The funeral service will be held at Lewis Creek Baptist Church, 1400 E. 600 S. Waldron, at 10:00 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 with a viewing from 9:00 am until the time of service.

Graveside services will follow. Rev. Harvey Taylor will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Lewis Creek Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.

Eric Roger Dickmann, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024, at his home.

He was born December 3, 1949, in Shelbyville, the son of W. Paul “Whitey” and Betty Jean (Beagle) Dickmann.

Eric is survived by his brothers, Fred Dickmann of Columbus, Rod Dickmann and wife, Karen, of Shelbyville, and Brad Dickmann of Shelbyville; nieces, Mandy Bunton and Kylie King; and nephews, Cole Dickmann, Case Dickmann, Joe Dickmann, Will Dickmann and Wesley Dickmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Cord Dickmann.

Eric was a 1968 graduate of Shelbyville High School.

He formerly attended Hope’s Point Church.

Eric retired from J & R Painting, after working at Brown’s Volkswagen-BMW and Porsche in Orlando, Florida. After retirement, he spent a lot of his time helping his neighbors, family and friends, with their projects.

He enjoyed gardening, painting and being a Mr. Fix-it.

Eric loved candy and had a candy dish in every room.

He also enjoyed and leaves behind his brother’s dog, Buddy.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 5 to 7 pm, Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

A Celebration of Eric’s life will follow at 7 pm, Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Randy Worland officiating.

Our beloved mother, Janice "Sharon" Kolls, peacefully joined the Lord on January 31, 2024. It is a profound moment as she is now reunited with our dear father, coming to him on his birthday. Their love story has found its ultimate ending.

Sharon, born on May 12, 1932, in Shelbyville, was the daughter of Don and Bernice (Gordon) Richardson. On May 12, 1951, she exchanged vows with Walter C. "Wally" Kolls, who preceded her in passing on December 25, 2017.

Sharon leaves behind a legacy through her four children: Mike Kolls and his wife, Kathy, Jeff Kolls and his wife, Karen, Julie Hirschauer and her husband, Dennis, all from Shelbyville, and Molly Finger and her husband, Mark, from Berlin, Wisconsin. She is also survived by her brother, Gordon "Bernell" Richardson of Surprise, Arizona.

Sharon's life was graced with the presence of numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory. She found immense joy in her family and shared beautiful stories of her time with her grandparents, Hord and Mayme Gordon, along with Elmer and Zelma Richardson. She held the family history close to her heart, and every piece of furniture, picture, or lamp held a special place in her heart.

Sharon and our father, Wally, shared an extraordinary love story that began at the Indiana State Police Post. Their shared interests of travel, gardening, dancing, and card playing strengthened their bond. For many years, they spent winters in Venice, Florida, hosting gatherings for the Shelby county community. Sharon had a delightful wit and a contagious laughter that brightened any room.

Her final year was marked by illness, but the caring staff and friends at Timber Creek Assisted Living brought smiles to her face. While we will deeply miss our mother, we find solace in knowing that she is now reunited with the love of her life.

Sharon's faith and love for her family will forever remain in our hearts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and her legacy of love and laughter will live on through her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to Wally, Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Betty Richardson; granddaughter-in-law, Jamie Lee Kolls; and nephew, Duane Richardson.

Sharon graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1950.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 pm, Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Donald “Edmund” DePrez Sr., 92, of Greenfield, passed away Friday, February 2, 2024, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield.

He was born October 5, 1931, in Shelbyville, the son of Elmer and Gwendolyn (Sawyer) DePrez.  On January 1, 1953, he married Catherine E. Kemper, and she preceded him in death on November 28, 1995.

Edmund is survived by his three sons, Donald E. DePrez Jr. and Bobby D. DePrez and wife, Mary Ann, both of Greenfield, and Roger DePrez of Long Beach, California; brother, Joseph DePrez and wife, Sherrie, of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Catherine, Edmund was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eva Jean Theobald; and brothers, Lloyd DePrez and Eugene DePrez.

Edmund was a U.S. Army veteran.

He formerly worked at Design and Build, for 10 years in construction.  

Edmund loved motorcycles and shooting pool.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the funeral home, with Bishop Paul   Weiss officiating.

Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
